I don't understand the argument. Monogamous or not, functional families have strong socialism components. So what? The question is what works best. What's wrong with society-wide socialism is the wrongheaded attempt to force people to treat random strangers like they are family.

Polyandry doesn't happen except under very specific conditions where birthrates must be tightly controlled due to resource constraints—e.g. rural Tibet. Even there it was fraternal polyandry, to reduce fighting between unrelated males.
