Radical idea: Suppose Americans actually trusted democracy for once, and we had a year of binding popular referendums on some key issues that politicians can't seem to resolve. What propositions should we vote on?

Guess the 5% is the important part(s)? I’m not sure a referendum is at all valuable. We’ve had our fair share in Canada with the various interests (specifically Quebec Separation). Lots of wasted dollars for essentially already known results. Still panders to the majority.
