In the past some lunatic decided to redirect state resources to build and bury a terra cotta army, another a giant pyramid. Today’s billionaires have that kind of power. They can do good and use they’re wealth to fight malaria or they can build a museum to their cat Mr Binky.

Worryingly they inject themselves into the political process trying to shape society. Some again for good, but others to grow their wealth. This is bonkers. Give me people with ideas not people with money that have ideas.

Billionaires are a cancer to a democratic society. As their fortune grows the price of everything becomes immaterial to them. They obtain absolute power and that is dangerous.

We must tax billionaires in a way that decreases their power. We must devote our resources to extending to everyone the opportunity to develop their talents and capacities. No problem in the human condition can’t be managed if we devote our resources to fixing it.

How about limiting people with that kind of wealth from either running for office or funding those that run for office?
