This new "verification fix" on @TeamYouTube makes me upset:
It gives priority to large brands over smaller ones.
It gives large businesses carte blanche to walk all over existing trademarks, branding and recognition of smaller creators.
It opens the flood gates for impersonation

This isn't speculation, this has happened to me with my brand, and BOTH times I was able to shut down their threats to me because I have a YouTube channel, the domains, pressreset as a username everywhere (except reddit) and a trademark.

If YouTube is essentially saying "we don't honor your branding anymore from within" that leaves me screwed in future confrontations because the platform I make content for won't honor the brand once there is a media push from a larger entity.
