If only the #WorldCup detractors would let him.
For many, #Qatar2022 was over long before it began. FIFA corruption is both longstanding and seemingly unstoppable. Sepp Blatter’s passing of the torch before he peaced out to someone equally self-serving means more years of misery

So when invited us to watch them play , it was an obvious, ‘YES PLEASE’. Villa fan Cath was made up to see so many goals despite losing 5-0. What a hero she is!

I would recommend viewing if only for the part in which a FIFA executive recounts how USA officials upon hearing England hadn’t qualified decided the security budget could now be halved for the tournament.
Thank you to for the private screening.

The life of Diego Maradona, his stratospheric rise and then fall, is captured in magical new film.
The grounds on which Maradona was forced out of the 1994 USA World Cup serves as an allegory that wouldn’t be out of place in Dante’s The Divine Comedy ⤵️

Don’t worry there’s a #podcast incoming where I’m joined by special guests as we hash out our feelings
