I decided on priors that aphantasia (lack of visualization) isn't a real thing. Looked it up, seems like I was right. Humans have little idea what they experience and tend to just make shit up that sounds cool to them at the time.

Can you visualize a 3x3 square of circular dots? The Hermann grid comparison seemed quite apt to me, but I'm not sure a general deficit in visual cognition is the best way to characterize it...

Point of the question about the dot-grid in part is to compare with visual subtilization of numbers. Does the ability to see an entire face at once in the imagination relate to the ability to "see 5" of something, either IRL or otherwise?
