I decided on priors that aphantasia (lack of visualization) isn't a real thing. Looked it up, seems like I was right. Humans have little idea what they experience and tend to just make shit up that sounds cool to them at the time.

Then people with limited visual cognition or people for whom visual cognition feels less stimulating might feel that they have no mental imagery but have trouble squaring this feeling away with the fact that they can answer some questions about fictional visual scenes.

Can you visualize a 3x3 square of circular dots? The Hermann grid comparison seemed quite apt to me, but I'm not sure a general deficit in visual cognition is the best way to characterize it...
