many things are already fake but i'm hoping "you're sharing things that were literally written by a bot" is a more socially enforceable bright line

And similarly, I don't think it's a hardline sin to post an argument written by a bot if you agree with the argument, even if you couldn't have generated the argument yourself.

You seem to be using "fake" as a genetic accusation, but a person's reasons for posting a text can screen off the fact that the text was originally generated by a process that wasn't honest or truth-seeking.
