Really cool library for creating SVGs with a "hand-drawn" look. We used it in our recent work on visual notetaking. The sketchy look affords edits during notetaking without coming off as "finished" Paper:

If visuals help, I need an optimal algorithm to pack rectangles in a shape kinda like this:

Looking for an algorithm to fill a shape with rectangles. Rects of any size - can be down to 1x1. Fewer rects the better. (The shape could be approximated to a polygon, if that helps) Even if you don't know such algorithm, anything that points in the direction will also help.

Half the tech opinions on Twitter are just opinions people have adopted/absorbed from others, without actually experiencing the tech. Tech A is like this and that. Have you used/studied tech A? No, but I’m convinced it’s this and that.

Someone gave me 'gold' 🏅 on Reddit today. What can I do with it? 🤔

Here's why you shouldn't use puppet-canvas: 👎🏼 You hate using async in your node code 👎🏼 It can be slower than native re-implementation of canvas api, mostly when you are trying to manipulate at the pixel level - and a lot of pixels

It's a canvas on a puppeteer instance via a Proxy. Advantages of using this over other solutions like node-canvas: ✨ Rendered as Chrome would - no re-implementation ✨ Tiny module footprint ✨ Future proof - If new methods are added to canvas, module doesn't need to update.

I'd always imagined roughjs would be great for visualizing dungeon maps :)

I also have a branch where the images are rendered in a worker rather than in the main thread using OffscreenCanvas. Not much of an issue right now, but can get busy if this ever gets more complex.

Only renders 1280x669 atm which is optimal for facebook and twitter. Supports 4 themes. (one of them copied from , and named so)

Lots can be improved for sure, but It's quick and clean to start with. Fast, < 17kb script. Made with lit-element and hosted on Netlify. And it's open source if anyone want to contribute/file issues/copy code:

I've seen a bunch of sites pop up recently that create "social images" for your web page. I thought I'd whip up a quick open-sourced one. Unlike other sites, images are rendered on the browser. No backend, no API calls. 📢

Wow! This is the graph of the outputs of 2 <-- 3 machine under the operations of A: add of dot and explode or B: multiply by 1.5. Love that there is necessarily a Hamiltonian path! Which nodes are degree 3? Which degree 4?
