The journey to Preact X began on a quiet evening in October 2017. Since then, more than 100 people have helped shape the future of this project and community. We're beyond excited to finally share the result of this multi-year effort with everyone. ⚛️

I presented today to a packed room of frontend devs. We’ve released compelling apps: Preact, Typescript, NextJS, Apollo Server, even Augmented Reality; a bit fragile right now selling stakeholders; mass timber not mass turtles still could use your back:

HTM's preact integration now includes hooks. 4.6kb for VDOM + JSX + hooks with no build step is good value-for-money, IMO.

Found the original comment when I joined the team. It's amazing to see how far Preact has evolved in those 2 years💫 It wouldn't be possible without such an awesome team and arguably one of the nicest OSS communities I've experienced💕🙌

An effort 9 years in the making, but we’ve finally made it. WebComponents are supported natively in every major browser

We've cut what we believe to be the last RC before stable of V3. Everyone in core team is chasing the last bug regarding hydration. Go try it 👍 P.S. There are many PRs around the bug, it's just that everyone wants to do it correctly instead of a half baked solution.

I'm really interested what you think we should improve on in Preact for 2020. What are the things you've been missing? Which problems did you run into?

What’s New in Preact X? (Preact is a lightweight React alternative with React API compatibility.)

At work, for our new checkout, aliasing react(-dom) with preact(/compat) was enough. Really. It was seamless. No incompatibilities or bugs since the change AFAIK. Actually, we're already exploring the possibility of doing the same for our website :) Great job, Preact Team.

66/100 Created a "Stacked Card" with motion in and Aphrodite without using any JavaScript's calculation 🎉🎉 If iOS chances are, you're quite comfortable with a "Stacked Notification". I'm quite curious if I could implement that on Preact, so~ here we are!!

If you think React is big now, just wait. 2020 is going to be even bigger. And Preact is going to be a huge part of it. Not saying this to brag or try to cause division. I love the web, no matter what tools you're using. ✌️
