Keeping the phone out of my bedroom works very well. And when I manage to meditate before checking any messages/aps I feel noticeably sharper throughout the day. Despite knowing this, still challenging, especially since I like use my phone to meditate. https://twitter.com/haralabob/status/1027320341578670080 …

Turn off all badges on apps; no notifications on the lock screen except texts; don't use phone for at least one hour after waking up

If I check the phone early, I’ll have a stronger urge to keep checking it throughout the day

It's all about changing the frame. You realize you don't need to check it or that you're missing things. And once you have that attitude starting in the morning it just carries on throughout the day. Was the single biggest way I cured my own addiction

Are we talking just not scrolling thru social medias or not looking at texts/emails also?

Im more referring just to texts from gf about the day or someone from work.

if those messages need to be responded to in the morning, I'd just wake up earlier so I could still have that hour to myself. I don't want to start the day on other people's terms

For me I check phone as soon as I wake up and give myself 15 minutes, catch up on small things then spend next 90 minutes without it and works really well
