Anyone with a good grasp of the English language and a shred of intellectual honesty knows that the second amendment applies to "the people". The first half of the amendment could say literally anything, and "the people" are still "the people".

Does it matter what it actually says? It was written by men. It’s an ‘amendment’ for goodness’s sake. It’s not infallible and it’s not unchangeable.
