As mentioned by Dennis Prager, there's a difference in ideology and reality. What is the ideology that we strive for and what is the reality of outcome? Utopia is not possible in my opinion. So what is the reality approach?

I actually disagree with people being evil by nature, if you want to look at history then consider that they might think they have been doing good by holding slaves, because to them that's giving meaning to their "lesser" lives.

I think God would best put it this way, or my interpretation of the Bible’s meaning. God created man in goodness but unfortunately we are prone to evil. Basically man is inherently good. It is our own temptations, what we are here to prove we can avoid, keeps getting in the way
