Patriotism aside, does no one watch sport anymore? I could sing the Canadian and American anthem by the time I was 12. Bits of the French and Russian ones as well.

I don't think it will be very painful since apparently no one knows the national anthem.

I've always recited the 1954 version. "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"

Isn’t that just sad
. So many have lost pride in our country -
I'm a true Patriot. Don't think I could be more proud of my country and its history, but that being said I still don't know most of the words to the British anthem. It means nothing. It's just a song. God save the queen!pic.twitter.com/OTkSs9JSEn
