Thorium reactors i believe is what is the cleanest and most efficient form or nuclear energy. Even with the waste it is cleaner than other energy sources.

Renewables are getting so cheap now that it’s kind of silly to cling to nuclear and fossil fuels. Also nuclear would be easy targets in times of war, are becoming more costly to build, and the waste will outlive our grandchildren. Hard pass.

Yes, waste—it lasts up to a million years and must be contained for that time, long after we are gone, resisting tectonic shift/future ice ages. Also, in a global calamity, i.e., meteor impact/major flare storm, the chain of meltdowns could ensure that we can never rebuild.
