Not sure on this, buddy. 20k?!!! A lot of folks could not afford such as amount. I mean the waiting list is a thing, but the cost in USA seems drastic. I think I'd prefer the Canadian one if I could choose. They might just allow some private hospitals to be nearly ideal.

Exactly. How is that a win for the US? He just had to pay $20K for the privilege of not waiting.

I've lived in Canada my whole life and have never had any reason to seek medical help south of the border. You're stretching pretty far with this one. Just be honest. There are things the US does better and there are things Canada does better. No need to twist the facts.

I lived in both countries. If you have money and seek treatment in the USA, you’re spoilt for choice. But when I was in the ER in the USA I’ve seen obviously sick people walk out of the department crestfallen because they discovered their insurance won’t cover the visit....

... and as a Canadian getting hospital bills and co pays were entirely foreign to me. Most fellow Canadians I’ve spoken with are glad to pay the taxes so everyone, rich or poor, can have access to care. There’s a reason Canadians are so happy....

So true. My entire family on my dad's side is from Canada and they endlessly complain about the healthcare. Multiple family members have come here for cancer treatment, and my cousin had to wait years before he could get surgery on his wrist. Guess the grass is always greener...

How did he pay for the cancer treatment? Was he covered?
