Bingo. I've lived in two countries with 'free healthcare'. Both are defacto two tier systems. I wound up paying *more* than a decent HMO in the states would have cost, factoring in secondary insurance and mandatory fees. I also waited 3 hours to see a doctor.

Everyone understands that services are paid with taxes. No one pretends otherwise. The advantage of Medicare4All is that it lowers overall costs by cutting out the parasitic insurance industry.

Just be prepared Canadian's pay on average 13% sales tax , $ 3.30 a gallon for regular gas. Highest marginal tax 53.3 % @ 180K . Plus most things in canda cost 15% or more period. Then good luck with specialists unless your critical you will wait.

Completely wiping out the private sector is indeed absurd, they’re there to pickup shortages in services. That being said, the entire concept of Americans paying for childbirth is inhumaine, not to mention self-defeating. Blended healthcare is a virtuous goal.

I agree with you. Even Medicare costs monthly plus having to pay a supplemental insurance AND prescription premiums on top of that!
