I went to Gettysburg a few years ago. It was one of the most moving things I've ever experienced. I stood in that cemetery in the place where Lincoln gave his speech and cried when I heard that Lincoln had thought his speech had let the people down. If only he knew...

I stayed in Gettysburg for a month or so this past November, the aura of the place is hard to put into words, almost like a prideful sorrow with purpose. I only wish those with extreme views, left or right, would learn we do better to Unite then to fight.
