Subsidies. In the form of government grants and loans. Schools have no incentive to control costs as long as these continue to grow unchecked.

Why did college costs increase so much? Because the government started making student loans. Same education as 20 years ago but it costs four times as much.

Want something to experience huge price increases? Subsidize it. ....and now some want to create a 100% subsidy any cost estimate for that is vastly understated
