I like my socialist snow plows that come clear the highway after a storm. I like the socialist library I use. I like the socialist work laws. I like the socialist fire department and socialist police force. I like the socialist highway systems. I like the socialist internet.
-
Not a one of these is socialist. Trash in many municipalities contracted to private firms. Highways were built primarily for the army. Don’t let reality get in your way. In socialist countries none of the things you listed work well or even at all.

I remember when I first heard about this back in the 1990s when I started listening to Rush Limbaugh. Fascinating bit of history but it gets glossed over in many documentaries.

The funny thing is I'm surprised I did not know this...I'm actually trained to be a high school history teacher.

This is ignorant garbage. Socialism means a POST-CAPITALIST society of abundance, utilizing modern mass-production methods — not crude tools a handful of people had 400 years ago, making socialism impossible then. Jamestown and Plymouth had nothing at all to do with socialism.

Yes, technology, AI, automation, robots, etc have made socialism much more feasible. Are we going to argue against farming because neolithic hunter-gatherers had to migrate with game?
