Once eaten, carbs = sugar. Low fat diet = high sugar diet. Fat is our friend.

Fat makes you feel satisfied and is delicious. BTW I looked at the label of "Baked Lays" chips. Not only are they almost exactly the same calories, they're more carbs, and taste like crumbly paper. If you're gonna eat chips, eat the good ones. They're better for you. And better.

I think it would have been fine if I had actually followed the damn pyramid. Even the healthiest of food can be made unhealthy if not prepared or consumed properly.

Nobody followed the food pyramid. The over abundance of fast food, combined with the need for dual family households who have to work long hours and don't have time to cook or exercise is the problem.

I’m pretty sure we made ourselves fat. Can’t blame a chart for that.

I'm pretty sure grains/starches raise insulin, and insulin promotes fat storage and blocks satiety, and the entire bottom of the chart is grain/starch that we don't need.
