In a constitutional republic each state has = representation for the vote of the presidency. If based solely on pop. the vast majority of the nation would be neglected. Every state matters in the union. We cannot have CA, NY deciding every major policy issue 4 the entire NATION!

If it is popular vote, the strategy of campaign will be different. Republicans will show more interest in California and NYC while Democrats will seek to get more votes in Texas and Oklahoma. The campaign will be more intense in all the states. Nowhere will be neglected at campgn

Not convincing enough. Each point can be easily flipped. For instance, stealing the votes in a precinct can easily flip the state, where both parties are neck to neck. The strongest point however is that it is stated that determine the outcome of presidential election

You’ve apparently never been to a convention. One (even 10+) corrupt precincts in a state will not affect the vote of 2/3 of the convention.

As a former teacher I can confirm that she said the minimum necessary to be correct. The arguments on either side are secondary to what is factually in our foundational documents.
