Also the costs involved in lethal injection is too high. Stand the murders before a firing squad. The bullet is much cheaper and saves tax payers money.

My heart, my mind, and my whole being doesn’t “cry out for some justice and fairness in this world”, rather it cries out for mercy and forgiveness. The death penalty is a cruel, and archaic practice that strongly devalues human life and terribly construes the idea of justice.

Well stated. But there are too many moving parts that determine justice, especially in the Philippines. (The law, law enforcement, the judicial process, the penal system, corruption, organized crime, political powerhouses, etc.)

It is much cheaper to keep a person in prison for life than to sentence them to death because of all the automatic legal maneuvers that kick in that require tax payer funded legal counsel and years of appeals. Those cost millions vs. 1/4 million or so for a life sentence.
