Also, a religious physicist posed the question: did the physics required for this universe to exist, pre-exist the Big Bang? From whence those physics?

Just because physics can't answer a particular question, like that of what happened before the Big-Bang, doesn't mean that it is a free lunch where anyone can raise their hand and say me! I have the answer! My blue leprechaun theory can explain it!
