Colleges have been the place where young adults get indoctrinated the most. I'm surprised they haven't come up with a word like comrad for how you are to address your fellow students.

I've seen the point made that these are voluntary. Perhaps, but it is still Orwellian in that it seeks to control language in ways that can easily stifle the free expression of ideas. Plus I don't have good faith that those using this won't act as if they have the force of law.

One thing about progressivism is that it often uses incremental tactics to slip itself into policy, boiling the frog by slowly turning up the heat rather than all at once. What starts out as voluntary guidelines (which is a fine concept) might quickly become strictly enforced.

I’d rather go to a college that offers unenforceable recommendations like this than one that outright forbids students and staff from defending transgenderism or having a homosexual relationship.
