Excellent points from Dr. @lanheechen. One other premise that so many overlook (including conservatives) is that we (U.S.) haven't had an actual free-market based HC system since mid-1960's. A false frame (gov OR free-market) was set in 90's that eventually led to ACA passage.

People, including Senators, go to other countries to get quality care all the time, but unlike the citizens of those countries, they have to pay out of pocket which means it costs more. It’s totally inefficient.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-rand-paul-canada-surgery-20190114-story.html%3FoutputType%3Damp …

These are good questions. Why did Mick Jagger, a British citizen, opt to have his recent heart surgery performed in NYC, instead of Britain or Canada?

@lanheechen Just to clarify what I meant, the reason it was a false frame (gov OR free-market) is because the false frame is that we'd been operating from a "free-market" HC system ("that didn't work") for past 50 yrs when it fact it was government-intervention that ruined it.Thanks. Ask any Venezuelan what is wrong with healthcare provided by the government....

Or ask a Canadian or a Brit or Scandinavian or most the first world countries.
