We can talk about all the “solutions” in the world but children don’t need better paid teachers or better facilities or textbooks/learning medium. What they need is families that stick together. A mom and dad, husband and wife, that stay together and provide them stability.

Teachers need supplies and decent salaries. Some schools in urban areas do not even have pencils or paper and they share books. It's underhanded and unacceptable. Its not always about mom&dad staying together esp since kids are in school more day hours than with their parents.

You have to be prepared for the opportunity to take advantage of it. If Harvard accepted only low income inner city graduates, would it still be Harvard?

Why not fix what is broken instead of breaking what is working. Problem with public schools? Don’t ruin private and charter schools. Just raise the standards of teaching and ethics at public schools.
