Train wreck of a President the new deal failed. FDR prewar was an admirer of Mussolini, Hitler, and Stalin. hated Churchill and gave half of Western Europe to Stalin at Yalta condemning millions to death and subjugation. WW2 destroyed our competitors that created our advantage

Absolutely not, WWI started because of political conflicts, no one expected it to be such a devastating conflict, it was supposed to be a short war to settle up a couple of long standing conflicts between Austria and Serbia, and between France and Germany.
