I think democracy is just working with a majority, anything above 50%. Should be the same for Legislation and electing the President. I fully support President Trump but the only way every vote can count is by giving the person with the most votes Presidency.

It encourages national campaigning? Not from what I've seen. Campaigns generally focus on the states with larger vote pools.

Especially after the strange vote outcomes in places like California and Florida.

Hahaha. The real reason you're for the electoral college is the fact that republicans would never get elected without it. The left mostly always win the popular vote. Same reason you dislike university's, because intelligent people mostly lean left. Greed forces people right.

Republicans do win the popular vote. Your second favorite president Reagan easily did it and Bush narrowly did it in 2004. If you want to see this country fall apart quickly due away with the EC when everyone will be under laws created in California.

"Every vote counts" - the exact opposite is true, if you life in an 70% Clinton District your vote doesn't change shit, whatever you do. "Protects from the tyranny of the 51%" - under the electoral college that number can be even smaller, how is tyranny of the 48% better?

An even better (no offense of course), more technical explanation is here by KrisAnne Hall. https://youtu.be/w3wRtUqVeyI pic.twitter.com/EvJCMWT2jt
