And a negligible amount of sales tax, property tax, and payroll taxes. Income tax is the only progressive tax we have. And the hyper rich have ways of avoiding even that.

granted, we haven't seen an actual concrete proposal, but she mentioned a 70% on annual income of TEN MILLION dollars or more. so in that case, both of those families which you mentioned wouldn't see their taxes go up at all.
