Definitely purposeful. A mistake is when you are in a new part of town and accidentally find you’ve turned down the wrong street. You go back the second you discover the error. No high speed car chases needed.

It’s not censorship when you sign up to use someone else’s proprietary platform. You have no “right” to use Facebook. Thus you have no “free speech” to censor.

By your argument Facebook has no right to use the Internet. Berners-Lee gave the WWW to the world free. Facebook et al figured they could barb wire off a big chunk for themselves. The internet does not need the silly cons. They need the internet.
