They won’t be. My degree was in the early days of identifying genes and characterizing their expression and I can guarantee those genes were uninterested in my feelings or the other methologies of new wave feminism.

If it amounts to no improvement in methodology then we'll know and we can act accordingly. There is an enormous amount of predisposition about this claim about the integrity of scientific data, framing of factors, etc. Scientific Inquiry isn't designed like a belief-based dogma.

Agreed on the point that science differs from faith-based religion. For faith, evidence is still useful in avoiding various traps, but for science, evidence is everything and the proper mindset is to default to trying to disprove the thing you believe is true.

waste of money -
At the very least it subjects this inquiry to academic and scientific rigor. If it's a waste then it will only "hurt" them. If they realize anything useful it will be a net gain.
