        BTW, it's a damned travesty that when we discuss COIN TTPs in the Army, we turn to the Indian Wars rather than the Civil War and Reconstruction. Yet another part of "Reconciliation," focusing on conflicts with minorities rather than ACTUAL lessons learned.

        Foner’s Reconstruction is the masterpiece of the era. His “Short History of Reconstruction” is a very good condensed volume.
