And here we have the running estimate for the S1, as well as some COA comparison, because staff hell exists at all timespic.twitter.com/fWpLcpTz05

I'm very glad to see that little has changed in staff operations since 1960.pic.twitter.com/bAgGmeyK6R

Wild that there used to be an appendix set up as part of an OPORD just for monitoring nuclear effects - and not just sort of hand-waving it, actually planning for it. Wild.pic.twitter.com/6vzzgOAehx

These are all from a command post exercise called FAREX in 1960. Had I to guess, I think that would stand for First Army Exercise. Loads of fun reading over old orders and seeing staff work... especially when I'm not the one doing the work.

I'm slightly concerned that I tweeted about an ACR and have heard not a peep from @CavRTK...

Excellent training. I bet all the operations those men subsequently took part it in across the next decade looked exactly like FAREX.

the idea that the adj was up on ACR doctrine is amusing

Back in the day, the Adj in an ACR was an Armor CPT...so...maybe?
