From 2014-2017 there were 49,000 bookings into SF county jail of just 21,000 individuals. That means, on average, every person booked into the jail once was booked 2.3 times. Can someone explain what reforms @chesaboudin is talking about? Seems like the way to fix what he’s posing here is to keep the 21,000 individuals longer in jail. So that they don’t have to be rebooked. What am I missing?
