@cjacuff The phone issue is really becoming a problem for pollsters. -
@barner Yeah, I'd imagine most firms will be using some combo of Internet, cell, and landline before too long. -
@barner It wasn't that long ago that old school pollsters and academics rejected web-based surveys, but that's changed pretty quickly. -
@barner Things like MTurk are still debatable, but YouGov, et al. have shown reliable results. -
@cjacuff They're going to have to figure out how to get good sampling with Internet polls. Don't know what MTurk is. -
@barner YouGov is solid (mainly b/c they use huge samples), but most online polling has become more reliable (e.g. http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/10/which-polls-fared-best-and-worst-in-the-2012-presidential-race/?_r=0 …). -
@cjacuff YouGov had UK tied, and the Conservatives won by 6+%. With a 10,000(!) sample size? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_2015_United_Kingdom_general_election#2015 … - 2 more replies
