    I grew up outside Collingwood. School buses would be cancelled if you could not see across the street. One storm hit when my sister and I were at home but my parents were in town. They couldn't get home for two or three days. Usually, blowing snow was the big problem.

        We were 12 and 14. Our house was near Georgian Peaks on the lake shore. We got incredible winds and snowstorms off Georgian Bay. Got a lot of snow when I lived in Midland, too, but the wind was usually not nearly as bad. Area around Wasaga Beach-Elmvale was the worst.
