I am undecided which is more annoying. A web page slowing down my browser, or the browser telling me "A web page is slowing down your browser. What would you like to do? [Stop It] [Wait] X". Which page!? This dialog is so infuriating.

Redis just went proprietary, which sucks. No, this is not just "a limitation concerning fair use", it is an abrogation of software freedom.

1+ month in using as my daily driver, the highest compliment I can pay it is that I often forget I'm using Linux. I simply don't think about it because everything just works.

Interesting graph of UK 'net usage across the years. Earliest photo of my 'net connectivity via USRobotics modem from Oct 1999. I do remember using Pipex Dial free floppy disks to get online in 1995-96 and friends were online with demon in 1992-93.

This looks like a filming location. Near Blackwater, it looks as if there is a building frontage and driveway. Anyone know what film / show it might be? My curiosity needs to know.

I can see why people think their devices are spying on (listening to) them. I haven't mentioned or thought about this company for years until a conversation in the pub last night and suddenly now I see an advert.

I think we really should have shipped these USB sticks with googly eyes.
