Follow-up: my daughter went to that school, and years ago, my mom was a vice-principal there. Now and then when I visit I check out the plaques and pictures that still mention her, 30 years on.

I don’t understand this statement. Is it implied “jr high” isn’t used anymore? I always thought it depended on if the school was 7-9 or 6-8. (I went to a jr high. And to my knowledge 20+ yrs later, it still is one.) But maybe I’ve been out of the loop too long?
