I will break this down: Epic bought EAC so that Valve couldn't get Linux users support for these games. The CEO of Epic then compared championing FOSS software over corporate software to dodging social duties of helping marginalized people.
They also recently bought Rocket League, a game that has an official Linux port. the EGS launcher will never have a Linux build. The currently supported Linux build will be cancelled, leaving Linux users without any recourse, their game taken away, and no money refunded.
The next time someone goes past the legitimate claim that Epic exclusivity helps indies to state that moving to Epic never hurts customers, point to this. Shutting down discussion of actually abusive corporate tactics to Own The Gamers is inexcusable.

Clarifications since this took off: EAC was available for Linux games already. This has now been stopped. Valve was in talks, after Epic bought EAC, to get it working under wine for with does game using EAC. This has also been halted, right around when Epic launched store.
As for Rocket League - they reportedly walked back on pulling from steam a few days back. All information, however, has been conflicting, it seems the terms of the Epic deal have not been settled, and there is no reason to trust this tweet they sent.
