    Maybe cloud vendors should mandate their teams to spend N weeks/months down in the trenches with their customers, to see what really goes into building and running serverless container apps at scale in the enterprise. 🙂 4/4

    I'm an advocate for CaaS technologies, and I work with them on a daily basis in the real world. But, I find the torrent of oversimplified content absolutely hilarious! It's never as easy "as just a few clicks" - unless you're deploying a personal blog or something. 🙃 3/4

    Reality: "it's taken us 6 months to build and test this serverless app. It needs to integrate with on-prem legacy enterprise systems, has strict security requirements, complex business logic, automation & deployment is hard, and don't get me started on operationalising it!" 2/4

    My current gig is helping a team of 20+ SWEs build an enterprise scale solution on GCP. We decided not to use Kubernetes. Instead, we embraced Cloud Run, and the developer experience has been top-notch. Fully managed container platforms are the future IMHO.
