It won't pass...but it is a start!

If this were to pass, then we'd never have a GOP POTUS again.
-
Or....super radical idea....the gop would have to change their platform to better conform with the voting public
-
They did an autopsy of their party almost 30 years ago. They did not implement the things necessary to appeal to voters then. They just learned how to cheat the system. They won’t change. They will continue to steal elections.

The electoral college is an outdated practice focusing on state level. Not needed -

100% needed along with terms. I don’t think the politicians should be allowed to die while serving (such as Sen Byrd, Sen Thurmond & if KY doesn’t get smart,
#Turtle is going to eventually die in office). President has 2 terms, then all positions should have 2.#ImpeachTheMFThanks. Twitter will use this info to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Wow! That's amazing!
-
Yeah but they're right it would need a constitutional amendment
-
Oh! Just saw that it is a proposed amendment. It's never getting through the Senate, but it is forcing senators to vote against something that's popular with the majority. It's a political move .
-
They're also proposing an amendment that keeps the president from pardoning himself, family members, or cabinet members. Again, Senate won't pass it, but they'll look really really bad.
-
Republicans will no longer win as much as they do. That's why it wont get past the Senate. Cheating sobs!

At least the plane is firing on one engine now.

Tough for the swing states to bite on and they’d need 3/4th on board. It is a worthy endeavor but the timing is not there.
-
It needs to be out there to get supported

Bad idea. We are not a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. The founders intentionally set this up b/c states need equal representation. Might as well move to NY or CA if there is no EC b/c every other state would have no say. Trump wants to abolish EC too btw.
-
I'm tired of my vote not counting because I choose to live among other humans, not cows. The EC made sense when you had to ride a horse 3 days into a town to cast a vote. Low pop states would still have equal representation in the Senate.
