"Systematic review" no. Selected systematic review may be. But you can find plenty fo systematic review describing adverse effects, not to mention the ethical issues about such medical malpractice
-
-
Now, if you can provide a systematic review which contradicts this finding, go for it. I'll wait.
-
The alternative is that I will throw out this systematic review, IF you can specifically narrow down some fault in its methodology.
-
Brian J. Morris !!!!! The world's most well recognised infant circumfetishist !!! The man that claims that the benefits of circumcision outweighed the risks by 100 to 1, without any real evidence
-
> IF you can specifically narrow down some fault in its methodology. Authorship is not an identified fault in methodology. If you don't understand how systematic review and meta analysis works well enough to be able to even think about identifying such a fault, then
-
you really shouldn't be having this conversation.
-
Exactly, no mental sane person should have a conversation about chopping the healthy genitals of their newborns. Just the idea of considering such abhorrent practice means a serious humanity deficiency.

But that research is being debunked and will be completely. Circumcision doesn't protect against HIV or other STDs, penile cancer is less likely than male breast cancer, and UTIs are treated by antibiotics. Circumcision is never a prophylactic.https://www.reuters.com/article/us-aids-circumcision/circumcision-does-not-affect-hiv-in-u-s-men-study-idUSN0345545120071204 …

Allow me to provide you with a systematic review which rejects your position.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5296634/ …
-
Now, if you don't understand why your one study does not hold up against a systematic review like the one that I provided, I can send you a link to the Coursera course on systematic review and meta-analysis.
-
At the risk of being accused of an ad hominem, anyone who's unaware of the reputation of the person behind that systematic review needs to look into his background. The self-referencing bad science circumfetishist has zero credibility in medical circles. http://mondofown.blogspot.com/2011/02/critique-of-brian-morris-of-circinfonet.html?m=1 …

This is exactly why. 90% of what he systemically reviews is his own papers, most of his citations include him as an author, he writes in circles in this way, putting out new paper as if it refutes new evidence that the old studies were wrong.
-
Show flawed methodology or shut up. Don't want a paper by him? Cool.https://sti.bmj.com/content/82/2/101.short …

Flawed methodology like the HIV studies that did nothing to account for the 10% of the study where the intervention cohort was unable to have sex due to healing? Or did nothing to determine the HIV infection vector, when 1 in 5 HIV cases in that area of the world are believed>>
-
2> non sexual in transmission? Or the fact that the studies look at infections in population not seroconversion rates, but this is the assumed reason why FGM shows to reduce HIV infections in the study linked here: https://scholarworks.gsu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1113&context=iph_theses …

There is no other healthy, functional body part routinely removed without medical indication. Any part of a child's body COULD get diseased & we don't lop things off like breast buds or remove all teeth to avoid future problems with breast cancer or cavities! It's unethical.
