They may be ok for someone who’s never been sick in the past, but they don’t cover preexisting conditions and many other expenses.
-
Insurance can’t cover pre existing condition.that defeats the point and definition of insurance..
-
They can if you make everyone buy into the plan. Oh, wait.....
-
Go live in Canada then. Enjoy Big Brother selecting your plans and doctors..

You must be young and healthy. I’ve had cancer and now have an incurable disease that requires expensive treatments. Medicare isn’t perfect, but most folks like it. But I’m still three years away from qualifying. I hope you never have health issues, but most of us eventually do.

Short term CATASTROPHIC health insurance policies have lower premiums, because they cover provide less coverage, higher deductibles, and exclude pre-existing conditions. In other words, you get what you pay for!

The short-term health plans Trump is pushing are like degrees from his university. Expensive and not worth the paper they are printed on.

Trump’s healthcare policies are junk. They will not cover pre-existing conditions. Deductibles will be prohibitively high. Providers will not accept these types of insurance. It is yet another scam. You cannot believe a word that “POTUS” or the@GOP spews.

Yeah, short term, short coverage plans are obviously cheaper. They don't cover you when you need it. They just take your money when you don't.

They're junk plans that barely cover anything. Normally I wouldn't care if people went bankrupt under these terrible plans, but it causes higher prices to cover un/under-insured and lowers quality of care. Free market health insurance is not the solution.
-
Guess what? In a free society people can choose to buy whatever level of coverage they choose. Or maybe none at all. We should not be forced to buy things by the government under any circumstances.
-
In any other sector I'd agree. Health care doesn't follow the simple supply/demand scale. Everyone uses it. You think it's good that the insured pay higher costs to compensate for un/under-insured? If NHS style health care works in other developed country, it can work here.
-
The problem is it doesn't. I have a customer who is from Canada. She is a nurse and drove into Michigan everyday because government healthcare limits health workers salaries. You don't get the highest quality people.
-
Wow, you know a girl who didn't feel she's paid enough so we should just scrap the whole idea. Millions of people feel they're underpaid in all industries. I even work with people who live in Canada and commute, it's not a novel idea.
