I'd love to talk to a pro-CDC person about *why* they thing they are having such difficulty landing on a simple and coherent messagehttps://twitter.com/neontaster/status/1378020727543230464 …

I really do think we need to have a massive generational shift within the entire field of public policy that focuses on delivering cogent, simple, clear messaging that doesn't flip flop week-to-week
I would love to see a study on *how* people internalize public health info, when they change their minds, how long they hold on to out-dated information, how they interpret technically true but poorly worded health policy recommendations.
The Dickey Amendment exists for good reason, but only us gun nuts know about that.
I know that's the internalized reason, but in my experience that's not a thing that has happened People aren't being "reckless" b/c they see vaxxed people being "reckless", they're being "reckless" b/c they're tired of it all and there is still no end date on this
Or they are trying to everything to everybody. It comes across as the baby/toddler car seat safety reality to me. Is there evidence a booster seat makes sense for 7 year olds?
(Yes I remember the state seat belt mandates in the 1980s debates.)
Once it is clear that truth is not the criteria, why listen. Public health communications on CV have been a disaster from the early days. IF you are vx'ed you can travel. But no similar finding for those who recovered from CV. A current example of the incoherence.
