PTSD pharmacist here 🙋🏻‍♀️ I don’t think I’ll ever improve until I’m out of the environment completely. But how exactly do you get out after 10 years? Can I give back my degree for the amount I still owe?

There is a glut of pharmacists. Many are licensed & looking for positions NOT at the major retail chains due to terrible working conditions. Anecdotally, many have PTSD-like conditions from working through the pandemic and facing multiple labor cuts #TwitteRx #MedTwitter twitter.com/accpharmacist/…

I have spent a lot of time the last two weeks talking to members of Congress and staff about how destructive #PBMs are in hindering Americans in getting medical care & driving up drug costs. This has become a bipartisan issue & we are stepping up solutions to the #PBM problem.

To every media outlet running stories about CVS reducing their operating hours, THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF PHARMACISTS. Full stop. Unsafe script volumes, demand for vaccinations and COVID testing all with minimal support while shouldering all the liability - it’s no longer worth it.

Is this healthcare quality ? Do you realize that your algorithms, spreadsheets, research, funding, and "expertise" bring 0% value when Americans are forced to wait in pharmacy "breadlines"? Do your flipping jobs.

@cvspharmacy CVS management is allowing this, understaffed pharmacies, nonexistent customer service, and long, long lines at locations. Do better CVS

I can start a petition for CVS  to hire for the position as I couldn't think of anyone else better qualified to handle all of the "brand terrorists." CVS needs someone who REALLY understands the issues & will work to fix instead of hide them.

The fact that there are no realistically enforceable standards on the books for consistently ensuring the safety & integrity of mail prescriptions is pretty surprising considering the controls imposed on drugmakers, wholesalers, and retailers

😂Great audio of CVS exec talking about labeling people as "brand terrorist." I bet I know a few that are proudly on their list. Truth be told, I hope these CVS executives have a mirror that they look at themselves in to see themselves as the own worst "brand terrorists."

And the issues get worse the deeper you dig.

Today we sounded the alarm about the lack of pharmacists at @Walgreens in #CambMA. Both the River St and 625 Mass Ave pharmacies are now open, but faced intermittent closures in recent days. At 2:30 pm, phone lines + websites for both stores still said the pharmacies were closed.

It’s incredible to think about how these massive settlements worth over a billion dollars would never had occurred if not for the public availability of drug pricing data, the tenacious efforts of local journalists, and the accountability brought by elected officials.

A big story I had queued up for the Dispatch can finally run today: Ohio's $88.3 million settlement last year from health care giant Centene likely will grow much larger due to the company's new $165.6 million agreement with Texas That's because a clause in Ohio's 2021 deal...

Loretta and Dan Schneider from the documentary The Pharmacist have amazing advocacy stories that parallel each other well. During our shoot with them Dan even told Loretta, “You’re inspiring me.” Help us tell Loretta’s story and others like it on film!

A good PBM read… “Dr. Knoer added: “The vertically integrated oligopolies need to be broken up; state laws need to ban spread pricing; DIR fees need to be illegal; and PBMs should be required to be fiduciaries for their clients…”
