Amazing to watch on tonight & to see the southern right whale story featured! The current recovery level of these whales is unknown & we don't yet know how low their numbers got; our project aims to answer this..

Well here it is....the TED Talk. Was confronting for me to watch, as it was so raw and honest.... but I hope that as a result, some of it resonates with you all. We cannot address the madness of the world until we first address our own ❤️❤️😘

Who says that invertebrates, living in total darkness at the bottom of the sea around Antarctica, can't be cute? This delightful little has skin that looks like like a galaxy of tiny stars or hundreds of miniature flowers!

By tagging whales on their feeding grounds we hope to learn more about their habitat use throughout the summer season and into the autumn, & hopefully also their migratory journey this coming winter

Quick clarification, these are the first southern right whales ever tagged on their feeding grounds! Right whales have been tracked to their feeding areas before from calving areas, a great example at

A couple of weeks ago, two little girls in my village set up a SHOP on their verge with a little sign and a cash box. There was a picture weighed down with stones, and if you paid £1 you could guess what it was and write your guess in a book. They were raising money for .

When I started working at South Georgia 20 years ago humpback whale sightings were still rare but were increasing. The research team currently at South Georgia have seen 700 humpbacks during 1 trip- a fantastic recovery story

A lovely inspiring story of a wife & husband team (the wonderful Trish & Wally Franklin) who came late to science & have contributed so much to our understanding of humpback whales in east Australia. These guys were grandparents when they got their PhDs!
