Some podcasts are basically like a phone call between two people who have never met. Sometimes the interviewer does his homework. I love talking to football coaches, especially those who have researched "Feed the Cats" extensively. 1:55 long.

Over the past week, 36 Lake Zurich High School students tested positive for COVID-19, and all participants in the school's athletic camps are being instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days from their last possible exposure.

"Writing helps you to refine your coaching philosophy and articulate your beliefs...Articulation is not just talking: It’s speaking in a way that connects with your athletes. Bad coaches get lost in minutia. Good coaches see things simply and emphasize the critical points." 🎯

I’ve learned two things from this.... 1. Have the DISCIPLINE to take care of yourself. 2. Have the EMPATHY to protect those who are vulnerable. It is the most “American” thing ever that there is debate on these items.

We have been getting these athletes out of their comfort zone all summer when it comes to sprinting. We have tested a lot of different curve sprints & angles using added some competition to it – at CCHS baseball Stadium

Question was asked when do we test our athletes throughout the year.. We don’t really test....we train and track what’s happening. We track speed every week ala . We have trends on lifts based upon cycle performance. There is never a big testing day set forth.

Yesterday I submitted a 3300 word article to , “The 400 is a Sprint”. Of all of my articles I’ve written for Freelap/SimpliFaster, this one, written four years ago (pre-grandchildren), is my favorite.

Even for the 400, coaches who follow a "Feed the Cats" type approach to training probably echo this Charlie Francis observation: "It is much easier to gain endurance having maximum speed than the other way around."
