    Very sad to learn of the untimely passing of Dr Ibrahim Saleh. Ibrahim was an early & enthusiastic supporter of initiatives to study + graciously contributed a chapter to my co-edited book "Beyond WikiLeaks". My condolences to his family & colleagues.

    We are sad to report the passing of Ibrahim Saleh, an active IAMCR member for many years. Ibrahim served on the International Council, was Chair of the Journalism Research & Education section and a member of the Publications Committee.

    My issue w/ 1st journal - one I quite like - is the Editor rejecting our article based on a superficial reading + argument it lacked "key" citations (read: Ed's minor pub on topic). I wont name & shame the journal but we're thrilled to have it accepted in Communication Theory.

    After an absolutely ridiculous desk reject from a Media/Communication journal ranked in mid 30s (submitd 03/19; desk reject 06/19), the same coauthored article was just accepted in a Top 5 CMN journal after an R&R (submitd 09/19; R&R 12/19; Accepted today!)

    Good on Mackay for saying the Trudeau tweet wasnt civil (it wasn't) but if you can't control your social media messaging or your coms folks who yank you out of an interview early (terrible optics), how are you going to control the Cons?

    Given PETA’s history of appropriating symbols of black social & political struggle, I guess I shouldn’t be shocked by this. But I’ll admit it. I didn’t see “Super Bowl commercial where a grizzly bear takes a knee” coming.
