This is what advertisers are willing to spend on Facebook to influence buying decisions. If its influence was greater, they'd be willing to spend more.

If an ad increases the probability of a $1000 purchase by 1%, it's worth $10.

The numbers you’re comparing here or not parallel. The average user might see $20 worth of ads, but the spend they cause is much higher than $20.

The relevant comparison would be $20/user versus the portion of tens of thousands per user that goes towards advertisers, etc.

That’s some messed up logic for a data scientist! How is FB’s nominal monetization per user in any way a measure of how many purchase decisions are made based on ads brands place on FB?! If brands spent 100% of their revenue on FB ads they would have no business.

If there was an one-to-one mapping all advertising companies would be bankrupt by now. The fact they still use FB for their ads is proving the exact opposite point of the one you tried to make.

And Ad-$/user are certainly not uniformly distributed. Are there numbers how much many the campaigns invested on FB alone? I was thinking for a moment that I would be willing to pay 4$/month for FB's ad-free service, but that's flawed logic as well
